Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining

We deliver the National Training Package Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining BCG31203.

The course consists of Core Competency Units which cannot be substituted and Elective Competency Units, which can be chosen by the apprentice.

Apprentices looking to complete the Wall and Ceiling Lining course will undertake a four year period of training. Individual training plans are developed based on apprentice and employer needs. Specific training sessions are arranged in consultation and cooperation with the apprentice's employer.

Note that under the Victorian Government funded apprenticeship program the relevant course is BCG30298.

  • Use Wall and Ceiling Lining Tools and Equipment
  • Construct Bulkheads
  • Assemble Partitions
  • Install Plasterboard/Fibre Cement Sheeting to Flat Walls and Ceilings
  • Complete Penetrations and Flashings
  • Install Wet Area Lining Systems
  • Install Plasterboard/Fibre Cement Sheeting to Curved Walls and Ceiling
  • Install Plasterboard/Fibre Cement Sheeting to Arches
  • Install Cast Plaster and Paper Faced Cornices
  • Install Dry Wall Passive Fire-rated Systems

 

The Building Skills Centre has a number of trainers and assessors, qualified in particular disciplines or trades. More than likely each apprentice will have the benefit of two or three trainers through the duration of their apprenticeship training.

Wall and Ceiling Liners (Fibrous Plasterers) make, apply and fix the internal linings of commercial and domestic buildings.

Wall and Ceiling Liners (Fibrous Plasterers) need to:

  • enjoy practical work
  • have good hand/eye coordination
  • be able to work at heights
  • be able to work neatly and accurately
  • be able to read and interpret plans.
